Group 04 · Research & Social Infrastructure
The research and public-good arm of the group — sechaba means “the people.” We design community infrastructure and test ideas that reach beyond a single site.
Rebel Sechaba is where the group's design thinking is put to work for the public good. We research how buildings can serve communities, and we deliver schools, clinics, gathering spaces and public infrastructure with the people who will use them.
Every project is a chance to test something — a low-carbon material, a participatory process, a new model for maintenance — and to share what we learn openly with the wider field.

We start with the community and the climate, letting local knowledge shape the brief.
Low-carbon, locally sourced materials and passive strategies keep buildings affordable to run.
What we learn is published openly, so the whole field benefits from every experiment.
